Sydney, 23 November 2023ย โ Marketplace, a global technology platform that enables brands, retailers, suppliers, communities, and innovators to build and grow successful online marketplaces at scale easily, today announced it had been selected by Australian deal-discovery service Lasoo to power the companyโs new retail marketplace.
Established in 2007, Lasoo provides a single destination through which shoppers can peruse and purchase items from more than 80 of Australiaโs largest retailers, including Aldi, Coles, Woolworths, Pet Stock, Chemist Warehouse, and Lincraft. Lasoo currently has more than 200,000 products available for purchase.
Lasoo & Marketplace Partnership
In 2020, Lasoo was purchased by holistic marketing company IVE Group before being re-platformed and relaunched in September of this year.
ย โWe were very keen to create the most compelling online shopping experience possible for our growing customer base,โ said Lasoo Chief Executive Officer Rob Draper. โFor this reason, we chose to partner with Marketplacer which has developed a very powerful e-commerce platform.ย At the same time, Marketplacer stood out from its competitors due to its ability to scale and rapidly bring new retailers on board.โ
The Marketplacerโs platformโs M-Connect feature is particularly compelling for Lasoo as it provides sellers with a range of ways to load their product listings onto the Lasoo website while also synchronizing with existing inventory systems.
โBeing a headless platform, Marketplacer could easily be integrated with both our customized web front end and our app environment,โ said Draper. โThis allows us to deliver a truly seamless customer experience.โ
The new Marketplacer-powered Lasoo website offers a range of compelling features, including location-based searches and personalized product listings based on previous purchases. Customers can also create individualised shopping lists and register to receive alerts when particular products are on sale.
Jason Wyatt, CEO and Founder of Marketplacer said the new Lasoo platform allows customers to complete purchases without needing to transfer to each retailerโs individual website. This streamlines the entire transaction process and makes the experience much more compelling.
โMarketplacerโs ability to tightly integrate with each retailerโs existing e-commerce infrastructure platform was critical to the success of the project,โ Wyatt said. โThis ensured that the new site had a full portfolio of products available from launch day.โ
Marketplacer will continue to work closely with Lasoo in the coming months to increase the number of retailers on the site and the range of products available for purchase.
โI am confident that, with Marketplacer, we have a valuable technology partner who can support our plans for ongoing future growth,โ said Draper. โLasoo looks forward to a strong relationship that builds long-term value both for us and our loyal customer base.โ
Launching with Cognizant
Marketplacer’s implementation Partner, Cognizant (Contino), led Lasoo through highly collaborative, human-centered design sprints that showcased a data-driven software development approach. This enabled Lasoo to continuously co-create and embrace new digital frontiers, as was its objective. Cognizant extended its collaborative approach to working alongside Marketplacer to integrate and dual-deliver the headless Marketplacer solution functionality into the core of the Lasoo experience. This has allowed Lasoo to provide a platform for its Suppliers and Brands to self-manage products & inventory, which is dynamically made available to Lasoo’s Customers for browsing and purchasing through the Lasoo front end.
